Our School

Grand Rapids Area Virtual Academy (GRAVA) is a comprehensive K-12 school open to all students in Minnesota, with no cost to attend.

  • For grades K-5, GRAVA mixes live online classes with learning students do on their own. This includes both online and offline activities.

  • Students in grades 6-12 learn at their own pace. They set goals and follow a timeline to finish their courses.

  • GRAVA works with students, families, and staff. Together, we build a plan that fits your child's learning style. We also follow all state rules for education.

  • Students may use their own device, or GRAVA will provide a district iPad (K-12) to any student who needs one. We have a robust technology support system to assist with technology needs.

  • GRAVA students can get extra help when they need it. This includes teachers for English learners and teachers for special education.

  • GRAVA is a state-approved, comprehensive online education provider.

  • GRAVA will follow the same school calendar as the rest of the Grand Rapids Area Schools.
