Is GRAVA Right for Your Child?

An honest look at fit
Online school isn't the right setting for every student — and we'd rather help you find the best fit than enroll a student who won't thrive. Here's an honest look at who GRAVA serves well, and who might be better served elsewhere.
GRAVA is a great fit if your child:
- Is fairly self-motivated, or has a parent or guardian who can serve as a daily Learning Coach (especially in grades K-5)
- Needs a flexible schedule — for athletics, performing arts, travel, work, or family circumstances
- Has health or anxiety needs that make a traditional building difficult
- Wants to learn at their own pace, whether that means accelerating or taking more time
- Thrives with one-on-one teacher support in a calm, focused environment
GRAVA may not be the best fit if your child:
- Needs intensive, in-person structure and supervision throughout the day
- Is not yet able to work independently and won't have adult support at home
- Does not have access to reliable internet (though we can help — see Technology)
Why families choose GRAVA:
- The athlete or performer who needs daytime flexibility for training and competition
- The student with medical or anxiety needs who learns best from home
- The advanced learner ready to move faster than a traditional pace
- The family seeking flexibility — for travel, schedule, or a fresh start — without leaving their home district
