Guardian Portal
Your student's GRAVA courses run inside the Imagine Learning Virtual Portal. Everything they do lives there — lessons, assignments, due dates, grades.
You can see all of it too. A guardian account gives you your own login, showing the same coursework your student sees, plus their grades and attendance minutes. It takes about five minutes to set up.
Getting your student signed in

On a district iPad
- Tap Clever on the dock — a white C on a blue square.
- When Clever asks for the badge, hold your student's badge page up to the iPad camera.
- Choose Imagine Learning Virtual Portal — the navy square with light-blue figures.
- Your student sets their own PIN the first time. There is no password sent home.
On a home computer or personal device
Plenty of students work from their own laptop or tablet. Go to clever.com/login — your student signs in there with the same Clever badge from their handout, and the rest of the steps are the same.
Once the PIN is set, students can also go straight to the portal at ilvp.imaginelearning.com.
From then on, GRAVA courses open through that portal — Buzz for grades K–5 and Edgenuity for grades 6–12.
Lost the badge page? Call the GRAVA office at 218-327-5700, option 6 and we will get your student a new one.
Creating your guardian account
A guardian account is separate from your student's login. You create it yourself, and it lets you:
- Track your student's progress through their courses
- View and send communications
- Message your student's teachers
- Review grades
- See attendance minutes

The guardian portal looks just like your student's portal. The one difference: assignments can only be submitted from the student's account, not yours.
Inside the guardian portal

Once you are in, two views tell you almost everything.
The to-do list shows upcoming or past-due activities within seven days. If the list is empty, your student is more than seven days ahead in their courses — that is good news. If an activity shows past due, your student is behind.
The calendar shows color-coded due dates by course. Choose a date to see what is due that day. You can view a selection of courses at a time and switch between day, week, or month.
Helping your student at home
- Choose a comfortable, distraction-free space as a work area.
- Create a plan — "focus time" and "break time" — to help them connect and succeed.
- Make sure your student has Wi-Fi and a charged device.
- Show interest in what they are learning: "What did your learning focus on today?" or "What questions do you have about the lesson?"
Staying connected to your student's teacher
Checking in regularly with your student's teacher makes a real difference. Teachers can be reached by email, by phone, during office hours, or by booking an appointment outside of office hours.
Reach out if you have questions about a course or an assignment, or if your student is:
- Having a hard time understanding a concept
- Falling behind in assignments
- Finding the work too easy and lacking challenge
